San Diego Chargers backup quarterback Charlie Whitehurst had his left knee wrapped in ice, and though he says the injury is not serious, the club is apparently looking at other QB options, says the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Long-time Chargers backup Billy Volek, who had been Philip Rivers'  backup since 2006, was released in March and remains a free agent and an option for San Diego to bring back if Whitehurst is down for any length of time.

Also, left tackle Jared Gaither had to leave the field in a cart after what was described by one Chargers player as a "full body cramp." Gaither had ice on his lower back.
