Miami jumps to top of the list with hiring of Philbin as head coach. Terry McCormick
With the hiring of Joe Philbin as the Miami Dolphins head coach comes the promise that the offense will have more of an up-tempo flair to it than in the past.
The speculation now begins, as the Miami Herald points out, that the Dolphins will target Green Bay backup Matt Flynn, who can be a free agent on March 13. Flynn has only seen limited duty behind Aaron Rodgers, but threw a team record six TD passes against Detroit in the regular-season finale.
Going after Flynn makes more sense for the Dolphins than nearly anyone else, given the Philbin connection and the fact that both Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III will be long gone in the draft by the time the Dolphins pick at eight or nine (depending on a coin flip with Carolina).
