Dolphins rookie QB will get reps with ones vs. Panthers. Terry McCormick
Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin isn't naming his starting quarterback for tonight's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.
Whether rookie Ryan Tannehill or last year's starter Matt Moore gets the nod tonight had not been revealed as of Thursday, according to the Palm Beach Post.
“Whether (Tannehill starts) against Carolina or not remains to be seen,” Philbin said, “but he will get some reps with the ones, against the (starting) defense.”
With David Garrard out following arthroscopic knee surgery last week, Moore started last week, but Tannehill came off the bench to throw a touchdown pass against Tampa Bay's backups.
The Dolphins would like to have their starter settled in by next week, and with Garrard out, chances are Tannehill will get a long look tonight in order for Dolphins coaches to make their decision soon.
