Oakland Raiders star cornerback Nmandi Asomugha would like a change of scenery.

Specifically, he would like to play for the New York Jets opposite their Pro Bowl cornerback, Darrelle Revis.

Asomugha said he has discussed the prospects with Jets coach Rex Ryan.

"Me and Revis have been talking to Rex to try to do something," Asomugha told ESPN. "You may see us in the future. There's a little bit of talk going on. Either he's coming to Oakland or something else will happen."

Added Revis: "Me and him have talked about it, but I can't really control that situation. I don't know if he can either."

It's unclear whether this constitutes a tampering violation since Ryan's actions in these conversations remains unknown. It definitely seems to be skirting the line, though.

Obviously, the Raiders can't be too happy about this round of chit-chat.

Man Aaron, you are one of the most gullible people out there, you take the bait and run. Now do yourself and the other readers who visit this site a favor and do some actual reporting. Read your source article all the way through, don't just go by what you heard from others or glimpsed in a headline.

Asomugha says nothing about wanting to play for the Jets. The actual quote you used for this article actually references the idea of Revis going to Oakland. Either way, it can't be taken seriously. In the article he even talks about how they brought the idea to Rex Ryan and commissioner Goodell. I'm sure if they were serious they would have talked to Goodell about it. Come on man, pull your head out.

And I suppose you missed the introductions to the Pro Bowl last night when Nnamdi proudly pointed at the Raider logo on his jersey.

You should really be working for BSPN or go back to work for Florio.

I got to agree with Jon. It's Super Bowl week and all Aaron can find to write on is some fantasy POSSIBLLY whispered by a player. This tease journalism isn't up to NFP standards and is getting to be a regular thing since last week they had Jerome Bettis whispering in their ear about Bill Cowler going to the Giants.Speculation and reports are one thing but this is nothing more than throwing a grenade and seeing what you can hit . It has nothing to do with being gullible...it's playing us for fools!

Poor Josh. If you think 10 sentences is a thesis you got bigger problems than worrying about comments a blog. The previous comment is what some might call a complete thought.

But if it makes you feel better about yourself to think I need to get a grip, I'm glad I could help.

You can't blme Aso for wanting to play attack football. This is all on Al who won't let his coaches blitz or do anything exotic on defense. Look what happened when Woodson left..oh, I forgot he was at the Probowl too. Come on Al, get into the 21st century. Everybody gets it but you.

Nmandi Asoumugha made a tough choice when he signed that mega-contract with the Raiders; he's financially set for life, but he goes to work every day for a dysfunctional, losing organization.

It is now incumbent upon him to suck it up and try to improve his team. He will never pull a Randy Moss and jake it to force a trade.

His comments about playing with Revis are much ado about nothing. Just a little harmless fun.

I'm sure the only reason Nmandi Asomugha "proudly" pointed to the Raiders logo, is because they pay him good money, and since he's their only "skill" player to make the Pro Bowl, gotta get some good publicity to offset all the bad publicity they get (ala Tom Cable & JaMarcus Who?). Asomugha coming to the Jets would be a dream for us Jets fans! I don't see it happening, but that's these guys' jobs to excite our minds by writing articles like this! GOOD POST AARON! NOW MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

And besides, even if this was true,... this is what you call TAMPERING! I don't think Rex Ryan is THAT stupid.

If the jets got Namdi they would be nasty. No one would be able to throw on them
