The Cincinnati Bengals have narrowly averted a potential blackout of their game Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens after selling out their tickets following the NFL granting them a 24-hour deadline extension.

The Bengals made an announcement late this afternoon that the AFC North battle will be shown on local television.

Now, the Bengals have sold out 49 consecutive regular-season and playoff games, but have had trouble selling out their tickets on time throughout the season.

They have received three extensions this season from the league office.

A tough economy has affected the entire Midwest and ticket sales have lagged.

Despite the blackout being lifted, there are seats remaining for the game.

The Bengals, the local CBS affiliate and Kroger worked together to ensure the blackout would be lifted. In honor of Veterans’ Day, Kroger will give away 500 tickets (250 pairs of tickets) to members of the military.

“We are thrilled with the response from our fans, Kroger and Local12, and we are pleased that Bengals fans across the region can watch our game on Sunday,” said Katie Blackburn, Bengals executive vice president, in a statement. “We have great fans and their vocal support will give us a real home field advantage for this big AFC North game. We are especially pleased that we will have so many members of the military on hand.”
