The Cincinnati Bengals plan to rest their starters during Sunday's regular-season conclusion against the New York Jets.

To what extent remains an unanswered question, though.'

The Bengals could be relegated to the fourth seed regardless of the result of their game.

Because the New England Patriots play the Houston Texans and could secure the third seed with a win, there may be no point as far as seeding for the Bengals if they win or lose to New York.

"It will be another Sunday for us," coach Marvin Lewis said. "I'll make those adjustments and so forth later in the week and as we go. We're going to approach it as a game we need to win."

The Bengals could also play the Jets the following week in the wild-card game between the fifth-seeded Jets and the fourth-seeded Bengals.

"All those things, we're going to take all those things into consideration there," Lewis said.
