Bengals running back gains 189 yards in win over Bears. Aaron Wilson
If it had all been about revenge for Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson against his former team, then he got what he wanted.
APCedric Benson
In a 45-10 victory over the Chicago Bears, Benson rushed for career-high 189 yards.
“I didn’t want it to be revenge,” Benson said afterward. “I knew I was going to be faced with getting over-emotional about it at times.”
And the Bengals gave him every opportunity to unleash those emotions as he averaged 5.1 yards on 37 carries.
At one point, Benson seemed to showboat a little bit by the Bears' sideline.
“I tried hard the entire game to not, I wouldn’t call it taunt, but just not to get too involved,” Benson said. “It was an emotional moment. We were running the clock, had a lot of point. I think a small part of me couldn’t resist just going there and showing a little.
“We had the Benson Bowl; it’s over with now. Next time we play against the Bears, it won’t be the Benson Bowl, just the Bengals vs. the Bears.”
