In the wake of former NFL linebacker Chris Spielman's wife, Stefanie, dying this week from cancer, the Buffalo Bills have issued a statement honoring her memory.

“The Bills organization is deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Stefanie Spielman. Her courageous battle against cancer touched many lives and serves as an inspiration to us all. Our deepest condolences and prayers go out to Chris and the entire Spielman family during this difficult time.”

Spielman raised awareness about breast cancer through her willingness to discuss her experiences and to offer encouragement to others dealing with the illness.

The National Football Post extends its deepest condolences to the Spielman family.
