Kick returner still in talks with team Aaron Wilson
The Cleveland Browns continue to make progress toward what seems to be an eventuality: a new, restructured deal for kick returner Josh Cribbs.
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, which has been tracking everything involving Cribbs' contract talks, everything is agreed upon now except the guaranteed money figure.
That includes other bonuses and escalator clauses.
Per the report, Cribbs wants $10 million in guaranteed money over the next three seasons.
And if the Browns are amenable to that figure, then Cribbs' camp is prepared to sign off on the contract.
Per the report, the Browns have only been willing to give up $5 million guaranteed with the new proposal now somewhere in between that figure and the $10 million.
It looks like they'll find common ground at some point. There's no apparent rush since he's under contract, but both sides seem to be highly motivated to get something done.
