The San Diego Chargers have already indicated that they intend to secure restricted free agents Shawne Merriman, Vincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd with the high tender.

Now, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that offensive tackle Marcus McNeill, another valuable player, will also receive the high tender of a first-round pick and a third-round pick.

The Chargers retain the right of first refusal on McNeill and the other restricted free agents.

And they would be compensated with a first-round draft pick and a third-round draft pick if they opted not to match an offer sheet from another team.

So, the Chargers are likely to hold onto all four of those players unless another team is willing to pay the doubly high price of a big contract and give up two high draft picks.

So if they get raided for each of those players, the Chargers will end up with five first-round picks and five third-round picks in the 2010 draft.
