Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson reached a settlement with the team that reduced his two-week suspension without pay to a two-week suspension with one week of salary reinstated, according to a league source.
And a grievance hearing set for next week has been vacated.
Johnson remains suspended for two weeks following a series of controversial remarks that he apologized for.
Johnson's suspension is slated to end Nov. 9, the day after the Chiefs' road game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He'll still be docked nearly $300,000 in lost wages.
Under contract through 2012, Johnson's future with the Chiefs beyond this season remains unclear.
He was critical of coach Todd Haley on his Twitter account and made anti-gay slurs on Twitter toward a fan and toward reporters in the Chiefs' locker room.
