The Kansas City Chiefs placed wide receiver Devard Darling on the reserve-injured list in the wake of him tearing his anterior cruciate ligament.
The team also cut veteran wide receiver Amani Toomer, a player that several league sources believe is on his last legs in the NFL.
Toomer's release is mildly surprising.
Last season with the New York Giants, he caught 48 passes for 580 yards and four touchdowns.
Toomer has registered 668 carere catches for 9,497 yards and 54 touchdowns.
The Chiefs also cut defensive end Alfonso Boone and offensive tackle Cameron Goldberg.
Running back Kolby Smith was placed on the reserve-physically unable to perform list.
The roster transactions gets the Chiefs down to the league-mandated roster limit of 75 players.
