Josh Thomas signed, Gonzalez has knee surgery Aaron Wilson
It was a heavy batch of bad news for the Indianapolis Colts.
The team announced that starting cornerback Marlin Jackson was placed on injured reserve with a torn left anterior cruciate ligament suffered in practice in a non-contact drill.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery to clean out loose particles.
Gonzalez suffered a setback recently in practice that prompted the surgery. It's unclear when he'll be able to return.
And safety Bob Sanders visited with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday to gather additional information on the left elbow injury he suffered last Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Colts re-signed defensive end Josh Thomas to take Jackson's roster spot.
Thomas has starting 12 of 68 appearances for the Colts. He totaled 172 tackles and six sacks. He had a brief stint with the club this past training camp.
