The Indianapolis Colts auditioned former Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman today, according to a league source.
Losman spent this season in the United Football League with the Las Vegas Locomotives, winning a championship during the upstart league's inaugural season.
The Colts' backup quarterback, Jim Sorgi, has a right shoulder injury.
However, Losman wasn't immediately signed to a contract.
This season, Losman passed for nine touchdowns and 1,193 yards with two interceptions for the Locomotives as he completed 62.3 percent of his throws.
With the Bills, the former Tulane standout threw 33 touchdowns and 34 interceptions with 6,211 yards and a 75.6 passer rating.

I liked J P when he played for Tulane but I'm a Wave fan and I like most of the guys who play for Tulane. I don't really know what happened in Buffalo but when he left New Orleans, I really thought he had pro potential if he could take a while to develop. I thought if he calmed down a bit and had a decent mentor, it could work. He is not a sit in the pocket kind of guy. He is a good athlete who can move and has a strong arm. So, it didn't work out with the Bills, the next guy didn't do alot better. I hope he can help another team but Indy? I don't know. . .
