Ferguson to IR, Ness cut, Oglesby, Alma-Francis signed Aaron Wilson
The Miami Dolphins had seen enough, cutting ties with outside linebacker Matt Roth.
Roth fell out of favor with the coaching staff after suffering a groin injury and illness, falling deep into coach Tony Sparano and football czar Bill Parcells' doghouse. There had been rumors about him being dissatisfied with his contract.
Highly regarded out of Iowa, Roth is expected to draw action on waivers.
And the Dolphins placed veteran nose guard Jason Ferguson on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury, signing cornerback Evan Oglesby and defensive end Ikeaika Alma-Francis.
Oglesby has played in 36 career games with the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys.
Alma-Francis was a second round draft pick of the Detroit Lions in the 2007 NFL draft and spent two seasons with the Lions prior to being cut Sept 6.
During his time with Detroit, he appeared in 19 games with two starts while recording 35 tackles along with registering one sack.
Alma-Francis played collegiately at Hawaii.
The Dolphins also cut safety Nate Ness.
