Former Colts coach thought his old team would win the Super Bowl Aaron Wilson
Tony Dungy had said he would be shocked if his former team lost to the New Orleans Saints.
And the former Indianapolis Colts coach turned NBC analyst remained in disbelief after the Saints' comeback victory Sunday night.
"I just thought it would probably be New Orleans that made the big mistake," Dungy said today on the Dan Patrick Show. "It ended up being the Colts that made the big mistake. I can see how fans get into it. I was down."
Dungy pointed out wide receiver Pierre Garcon's dropped pass in the second quarter as the biggest play in the game.
"I expected the Colts to score touchdowns and put 30 points on the board," Dungy said. "They only put up 17. I was pretty shocked."
So were a lot of people.

Who cares what Tony Dungy thinks? He retired, but can't seem to keep himself out of the spotlight. Go away Tony.
He's commentator - its his job to tell us what he thinks. Besides anyone whose handle is identifies them as a Cutler fan should just shut up.
Joe, anyone who tells another poster to show up because of his team allegiance, well, what needs to be said about such a person? Are you in junior high?
To the point, I too was shocked the Colts only hung 17. Says a lot about the Saints D schemes. But Tony was wrong about the biggest play of the game - it was the pick six. Check the records. Teams that throw pick sixes NEVER win in the big game. That was it.

I on the other hand Tony, was very "UP" after the game. I don't know why you're surprised Tony, your team has lost in the playoffs many times after dominating the regular season. Only this year, the Colts spit the bit in the superbowl instead of a playoff game. Typical underachieving Colts....
