The NFL has suspended Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe for a violation of the league's performance-enhancing substance policy.

The suspension will begin immediately.

"As a result of the league suspension, the team will have no further comment," the team said in a statement released this afternoon.

It's a significant blow for an already struggling Chiefs team.

Bowe is one of the top athletes on the team and has caught 33 passes for 466 yards and four touchdowns.

For his three-year career, the former first-round draft pick from LSU has caught 189 passes for 2,483 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Yeah, that's so nice of the league to suspend ONE guy on a LOSING team, yet those overated lard asses on the Vikes are still playing..wow..can you say follow the money Godell? I don't hink ANYONE should be suspended until the league settles the starcaps case concerning the Saints and the Vikes. NFL is becoming more and more like the NBA and MLB.... or even worse like society in general..the rich get richer, the poor get screwed.

I think kj is right. The league needs to settle this Starcaps thing. Also, the courts have ruled in favor of the players, so I don't think the league has any recourse. Godell and the NFL seem to think that they can do anything they want, including make their own laws. As for Bowe, I hope that if this is an instance of the league overstepping, that he gets paid time off and has time to rest up that problematic hamstring and get back for the last couple of games. I would love to see what he could do with a team that isn't terrible.
