Raiders quarterback honored Aaron Wilson
From the depth of failure of JaMarcus Russell, suddenly the Oakland Raiders have a quarterback honored by the league?
Yes, it's true.
Bruce Gradkowski was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after completing 20 of 33 passes for 308 yards and three touchdowns in an upset victory of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A Raiders quarterback hasn't been given this distinction since Ken "The Snake" Stabler all the way back in 1979.

JaMarcus Russell should be embarrassed... All the money he's getting paid and the Polish Cannon comes in and makes him look like an idiot (even more). I think Gradkowski is definitely stating his case to be the starter next season. If he can finish the season strong and have a good pre-season next year I don't see why not. Will also take some influencing on Al Davis from Cable of course...that's anybody's guess as to how it will turn out. Great job on the award!

What? I find it hard to believe with all the numbers Gannon put up in his prime with the Raiders that he was not named AFC Player of the Week at least once.
AFAIK the Stabler-Reference is, that Gradkowski is the first Raider QB to throw for 3 TD's in the last quarter since he did it in 1979.
