Former NFL player responds to civil lawsuit filed against him Aaron Wilson
Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin filed a $100 million lawsuit against the woman who has accused him of rape in a civil lawsuit.
No criminal charges have been filed against Irvin, who has denied the three-year-old accusations through his lawyer.
CBS 11 reports that Irvin filed the lawsuit in Dallas, Tex.
According to court documents, Irvin's lawyer, Larry Friedman, has made the following claims:
That the unnamed woman has interfered with his business, current and prospective, conspired to interfere with his business, defamed the Hall of Fame player and attempted to extort him.
In the document, Irvin is referred to as a "victim of his own success."
Irvin's lawsuit claims that the woman has signed two waivers of prosecution.
The state attorney's office in Broward County, Fla., where the woman filed the civil lawsuit, is exploring the matter. It hasn't determined whether criminal charges will be filed against Irvin.
The alleged incident in question was at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
