Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson has supplanted Marshawn Lynch, at least for now.
Bills interim coach Perry Fewell decided to start Lynch against the Miami Dolphins, and the decision paid off big-time.
"I made that decision, really, during the course of the week, just watching us practice, watching our tempo and just gut instinct," Fewell said. "Fred has been very productive for us and it was just a gut, again, to help our football team."
Jackson rushed for 73 yards on 15 carries, scored a a few touchdowns and caught five passes for 43 yards.
"I was definitely given my share of touches and it was something I wanted to take advantage of and make as many plays as possible for this team," Jackson said. "I feel like the more plays I can make the better it's going to help our team."
Meanwhile, Lynch has had an up-and-down season after being suspended for the first three games of the year due to a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy.
He has rushed for just 278 yards.
