Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Quentin Groves was allegedly involved in a car accident on his way to catching the team plane, an alleged incident that only drew a warning for an improper lane change.

According to First Coast News, the father of one of the drivers, Robyn Jackett, said that Groves crashed into his son's car as well as another car before fleeing the scene.

Following the accident, Jackett said that Groves got out of his car, identified himself as a Jaguar and said he had a plane to catch before driving off.

Then, another driver blocked Groves' Cadillac Escalade until airport police arrived. They issued him a warning and drove him to his plane.

"You hear the news reports and things about what the Jaguars do and it's like well they're the Jacksonville Jaguars, they're celebrities," Jackett said. "It seems like they get a different justice then the rest of us would."

Jackett's son was hospitalized with back and arm pain. Another driver is still in the hospital with a concussion and back pain.

One car was totaled. Another had $5,000 in damage. And Groves' car was also damaged.

Groves missed the Jaguars' charter flight, but caught a commercial flight to Seattle.

He played against the Seahawks, registering no tackles.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker was deactivated for violating the team itinerary during the trip to Seattle.

When asked about the incidents in light of his emphasis on work ethic and responsibility, Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio replied, “It certainly tarnishes those kind of feelings and statements."

It's getting closer to my prediction that Del Rio won't see next year's draft as a head coach...

Yeah I agree . And not just because Del Rio's absurd benching of Sims-Walker cost me a fantasy football loss yesterday . I just find it hard to believe that someone who comes across as such a control freak can have such little control over his team . I'm starting to think he is more suited to the college game .

What is it about NFL players hitting and running? Marshawn Lynch of Buffalo did one, Donte Stallworth of the Browns killed a guy...
