The Jacksonville Jaguars promoted rookie fullback Brock Bolen from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced today.
And the team made room for him by waiving cornerback/kick returner Brian Witherspoon.
Bolen spent the first 14 weeks of the season. practice squad. He was a three-year letterman at Louisville after transferring from Illinois in 2005. He finished with 1,321 rushing yards on 271 carries with 16 touchdowns.
Witherspoon played in 21 games for the Jaguars after joining the club as an undrafted rookie in 2008. He recorded a 23.9-yard average on 76 kick returns and an 11.3-yard average on 24 punt returns.
