San Diego Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromartie is on the trading block and being actively shopped with one prospective trade scenario with the Detroit Lions already being declared dead.

Now, the New York Jets can apparently be crossed off the list.

According to the New York Daily News, there's nothing to the rumor going around that the Jets are interested in trading for Cromartie.

"Two sources tell me it ain't so," Rich Cimini wrote on his Twitter account. "Chargers want him out of AFC."

That makes sense.

It also makes sense that Jets coach Rex Ryan, defensive coordinator Mike Pettine and secondary coach Dennis Thurman wouldn't be too excited about adding a cornerback whose run support and toughness are in question.

AJ Smith played his hand too early here, everyone knows the cut date will probably make a decision for him now....

Rick:
Thanks for opening your mouth and removing all doubt.

Cromartie has gone from pro bowler to 6th round schmuck in 2 years.
He's on his way to PacManville
