Lions coach on recruiting mission Aaron Wilson
Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz is going with the old-fashioned approach to try to land Tennessee Titans unrestricted free agent defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch.
Schwartz has paid a midnight housecall to Vanden Bosch at his home in Nashville, Tenn., according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
The Pro Bowl defensive end is in heavy demand from the Lions, who are serious about upgrading their defense.
Schwartz has strong ties to Vanden Bosch from his days as the Titans' defensive coordinator.
We'll see if the aggressive approach leads to a deal. This one sounds like a natural link to us.
And Vanden Bosch's blue-collar approach figures to fit in well in the Motor City.
