Former Redskins coach replaces Hue Jackson. Aaron Wilson
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens have hired former Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn as their new quarterbacks coach.
The Ravens have confirmed his addition. Zorn replaces Hue Jackson, who accepted a job last week as the Oakland Raiders' offensive coordinator.
"Jim played successfully in the league for a long time," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. "He knows what quarterbacks go through in this league. He has been a quarterbacks coach, a head coach and he is familiar with our offense. That's a great resume.
"I've gotten to know Jim for the last couple of years, and have been impressed with him as a person. He's a good, decent man and will be an excellent addition to the Ravens. This is an exciting addition to our staff."
Zorn replaces Hue Jackson, who left last week to be the Oakland Raiders' offensive coordinator, to take over the duties of tutoring Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco in his third season.
The Ravens hired Zorn, who was fired after two seasons as the Redskins' coach, after also considering offensive consultant Al Saunders.
Zorn will be coaching Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco after previous collaborations with Charlie Batch and Matt Hasselbeck.
Zorn is a longtime former NFL quarterback with the Seattle Seahawks.

Hey, it's a short commute. Probably won't even have to move.

I don't believe Zorn was our best option. Al Saunders was my choice to help propel the progression of Joe Flacco. Should I say Jason Campbell. His progress has been delayed by people such as Zorn.....
