The New England Patriots are an unlikely landing spot for castoff running back Larry Johnson, who was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs today following his suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.
Although the Patriots have injury problems in the backfield with Fred Taylor sidelined and Sammy Morris on the mend still, they aren't inclined to pursue Johnson.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick outlined that stance plainly enough during a radio interview on WEEI in Boston.
"I would doubt it," Belichick said when asked about the prospects of acquiring Johnson.
