San Diego Chargers rookie outside linebacker Larry English was fined $7,500 today by the league office.
The Charger' first-round draft pick was punished by the league office for his horse-collar tackle during the team's loss to the undefeated Denver Broncos.
For the season, English has played in five games.
He has been credited with 10 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.

The fine was warranted. His cheap shot was not the only one the Chargers did. Cromartie stomped on Stokely's shin on the TD grab when Stokely was on the ground and play was over. Cromartie also wrenched Marshall's ankle at the end of a catch in the 1st half.

I agree with the call on the field but the tackle was "incedential," the only way to get the guy. Fine was not necessary or warranted. Every team has this occur on a regular basis. Time to start fining the zebras for f'ing up.
