The San Diego Chargers accused Denver Broncos caoch Josh McDanels of taunting the Chargers' linebackers prior to the Chargers' 32-3 win with McDaniels allegedly telling Shawne Merriman and Co, "We own you," during pregarm warmups.

According to the San Diego Union Tribune, Chargers players claimed that McDaniels was the instigator.

"I'm not surprised," outside linebacker Shaun Phillips said. "He's a little cocky (rear end). It's all good, all fun and games. We didn't look too much into it. As a coach, I hope he has that mindset.

"But to say he owns us? I mean, you beat us one time. What has he really done in this league? He had a team 6-0 and now he's looking up at us from second place."

Following the game while headed to the parking lot, McDaniels responded and said that the Chargers "talked to me first," before adding, "I'm not making a story about this. If I did, I'd be able to tell you some things that aren't for papers."

So, obviously something happened between McDaniels and the Chargers. What happened, though, remains unclear.

Another really great decision by the one time "coach of the year" in the NFL. Stock dropping like Bill Clinton's pants.

Media put THIS punk on a pedestal way too early, too (same with Sanchez, only Sanchez is not a punk). McDaniels is an idiot. He needs to ride off into the sunset never to be heard from again. And this - from an extreme Charger-hater.

I'm sure that the Chargers players were totally innocent right? Who could possibly see roid rage Merriman causing any trouble?
