A cease-fire has been declared between San Diego Chargers star linebacker Shawne Merriman and reality television starlet Tila Tequila.

The dueling lawsuits have been resolved, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Although the matter was supposed to be discreetly handled, Tequila couldn't resist declaring victory and clamoring for attention via her Twitter account.

"Case closed!!! God was on my side all along," Tequila wrote. "I told u guys, I never lied about anything. And now, god has let everyone know the truth! I didn't have to say a word! God told u for me!"

Merriman's lawyer, Andrew Skate, told the newspaper the case has been "amicably resolved."

And Tequila's lawyer, Cyrus Nowenjad, said, "The matter has been resolved and all the cases will be dismissed."

Tequla alleged that Merriman choked her and tried to prevent her from leaving his residence in September.

He denied the allegations, saying he was attempting to stop her from driving while drunk.

Prosecutors declined to file charges against the NFL player, stating there wasn't sufficient evidence.

And Merriman filed a copyright and infringement lawsuit against Tequla in federal court.

Merriman was seeking damages up to $2 million.

He said that a T-shirt business venture was delayed due to the controversy involving Tequila, adding that his relationship with the Chargers has been damaged due to her allegations.

Now, the matter appears to be closed and we can all go back to speculating about free agency, trades and the NFL draft.

Hopefully this frees up some time in God's schedule now to help me win the lottery.
