San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman didn't practice for the second consecutive day due to a foot injury.
Merriman wasn't the only key player who didn't practice the past two days as defensive end Luis Castillo was sidelined with a calf injury.
The Chargers play the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend.
Outside linebacker Shaun Phillips (ankle), defensive end Travis Johnson (groin) and wide receiver Vincent Jackson (ribs) returned to practice.
Center Nick Hardwick (ankle) was limited.
