Wilson: Moss unconcerned with Patriots' lack of an offensive coordinator

Bill O'Brien still holds title of quarterbacks coach Aaron Wilson

Randy Moss spoke his mind Saturday, holding court about multiple issues, including his belief that this will be his final season playing wide receiver for the New England Patriots.

During his conversation with reporters in Florida while attending Heath Evans' charity softball game, Moss weighed in on the Patriots not having an offensive coordinator for the second consecutive year.

Quarterbacks coach Bill O'Brien has a lot of input into the offense, but doesn't have the coordinator title or full responsibilities.

And that doesn't bother Moss per se. He just wants the offense to be productive, and for him to be a productive contributor.

"I don't care who's the offensive coordinator, who's calling the plays," Moss said. “All I hope is, we get this offense back to where it was when I got here. I don’t care who’s the offensive coordinator, who’s calling the plays.

"I think that a lot of us had a lot of excitement in ’07, and I don’t think a lot of things have changed. . . . I don’t see why we can’t get back to that same potent offense we had two or three years ago."

Answering Moss' question, the offense could use a few things to bolster the attack.

That includes the healthy return of Wes Welker, a better running game and improved protection of quarterback Tom Brady.

Consistent effort and health from Moss would help the situation, too.
