Coach wasn't miked up Aaron Wilson
The NFL Network has apologized for airing a profanity screamedby Denver Broncos coach Josh McDaniels.
McDaniels was yelling at his players on the sidelines during their win Thursday night over the New York Giants.
Following a commercial break, McDaniels screamed: "All we're trying to do is win a [expletive] game!"
The outburst directed toward McDaniels' offensive players should have been bleeped out with a seven-second delay, a production error that made the network look less than big-league.
It wasn't even a live clip, further compounding the screwup.
"It's the NFL Network," McDaniels told reporters. "It doesn't surprise me."
The league-owned network apologized for the snafu.
"We wish we could have caught it," NFL Network executive producer Eric Weinberger said. "We apologize for ever airing anything like that, absolutely. Especially on Thanksgiving. It's a mistake."
"No one heard it as it was said. It would never have been aired," Weinberger said. "It was at the end of a clip, so we missed it."
Weinberger added that no one in the production truck heard it, so it wasn't intentional. McDaniel wasn't miked up, but the sound was picked up by sideline cameras.
"We're not in this business to do that," Weinberger said. "We're in this business to show sports and to show the most emotion that we can show. And the guy is an incredibly emotional, passionate guy."

I heard McDonk say "MF'ing" clear as a bell. The production guys at the NFL Network must have been asleep. Just goes to show another example of how little class McDonk has while trying to portray a phony choirboy image.
Everybody seems to be ignoring reality to NFLN a free pass on this. If you actually pay attention, this wasn't on a 7 second delay. It was taped. They start with a 'live' (seven second delay) shot of McD on the bench, and then go to tape proclaiming that McD is not a happy camper. This wasn't somebody asleep at the switch, but NFLn deliberately playing the sequence When you consider the great effort the Network has made to portray McD as an in-over-his head hothead that doesn't know how to treat players, its hard NOT to conclude that this was calculated.
To me, when Rich Eisen responded to McD's "What do you expect..." comment with "If McD is in anyway insinuating...", I see the smoking gun of guilt. Eisen, at least, was able to do the math very quickly on what McD was really saying. McD wasn't saying that NFLn has incompetent technical people, but rather that they have a consistent agenda. They have made sport of mocking and ridiculing the guy, and so far he has showed them as fools.
There is absolutely no doubt that NFLn knew what they were doing. They even knew that the rest of you could be counted on to circle the wagons to protect your collective selves. Its how the NFL media rolls.
Personally I found the screw-up refreshing. This is professional football guys. Its a violent game. I don't want to see a sanitized conversation on the side lines. The coach's stock rose a little IMHO.
Gotta agree with Packerfan1955. They had multiple mental errors in the redzone before settling for a field goal. Then McDaniels said the above and they started executing. Perfect coaching to me. Knew exactly what to say and how to say it to get his team motivated.
Scott Dee, get out of here.

Like we don't see/hear those words every day. C'mon, man. All the networks airing football games "show" at least one expletive during the games! Even if we don't get the audio, we're not dumbasses. We can clearly see what they're saying. How 'bout this one:
Vince Young to Bernard Pollard on Monday Night Football: "Fudge YOU, chump BISH!" Or did I not see that right?
I mean - the Commissioner can try to make all of our stadiums "family-friendly" and make the NFL "family-friendly" and do all their NFL Play 60 stuff to attract the kiddies.... but let's face reality. This is an adult sport.
