San Diego Chargers center Nick Hardwick isn't expected to play this week.
Hardwick was held out of practice Thursday due to a sore ankle.
Coach Norv Turner declared that Hardwick isn't likely to be able to play in Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"You try to take it in stride," Hardwick said.
Hardwick has undergone ankle surgery earlier this season.
Meanwhile, running back LaDainian Tomlinson (hip bruise) and tight end Antonio Gates (foot) returned to practice.
Outside linebackers Shaun Phillips (ankle) and Shawne Merriman (foot) both missed practice.
"I think he's all right," Turner said of Merriman. "I think he's just a little bit sore, and it's probably good for him to not work."

"...it's probably good for him to not work"? Really Norv? Merriman had a season and a half off. Maybe he needs to have another "accidental" run in with the juice.
