Former New England Patriots fullback Patrick Pass has decided to retire.
Pass was cut by the team before last season and hasn't played in a game over the past few seasons due to a chronic turf toe injury.
“Basically, my career is going to be over,” Pass told the Boston Herald. “I can’t shake this turf toe bug. I’m going to have another surgery soon."
Pass hasn't officially filed his retirement papers yet, but plans to after winning three Super Bowl rings in New England.
“I hope that, on the outside looking in, the players and coaches that I played with look at me as one of those guys that didn’t hesitate to jump and do whatever was asked,” Pass said. “Running back, fullback, every special teams, playing receiver. You want to be known as that guy who was called upon to get the job done."
