AFC East franchise apparently still interested in Panthers' pass rusher Aaron Wilson
The New England Patriots remain interested in pursuing Carolina Panther star pass rusher Julius Peppers.
According to NFL.com, the Panthers aren't going to use the franchise tag on Peppers.
So, he'll undoubtedly hit free agency as the marquee player available on the open market.
One year after the Patriots and the Panthers were the subject of trade rumors involving Peppers, the Patriots are apparently still thinking about making a run at him.
The primary obstacles to signing Peppers: Putting together a big enough offer sheet for him to bite and also finding money to hold onto nose guard Vince Wilfork and re-sign quarterback Tom Brady.
Who else is interested in Peppers?
According to the report, the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants could make a bid for him.
Whomever signs Peppers is going to have to pay through the roof, though.
