The New England Patriots auditioned running back Cory Ross and defensive end Eric Henderson this week, according to a league source.
Henderson played for the Las Vegas Locomotives this season in the upstart United Football League.
He's a former Cincinnati Bengals undrafted free agent who played collegiately at Georgia Tech.
Henderson ranks fourth in school history with 25 sacks and first with 59 1/2 tackles for losses.
Ross played for the California Redwoods this season in the UFL.
He played for the Baltimore Ravens for a few seasons after going undrafted out of Nebraska.
In 2007, he rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers before being cut heading into the 2008 season.
He spent last year out of football before signing with the Redwoods.
