Wilson: Pendergast hired by Raiders

I think Al made a really good decision here. Obviously the chiefs dont feel like pendergast did a good job with their dbs but the chiefs dont have the talent in their secondary that the raiders do. Im especially interested to see how huff,branch and mitchell will mature under pendergast. We also have picked up waufle who coached the giants stellar defensive line in 07 and hue jackson who has a track record of bringing out the best in qbs. Now lets pick up a big time free agent ( wilfork anybody ? ) and have a good draft. Hopefully we pick up some big ( 300 pound + ) offensive linemen in the draft. By the way ive been seeing a lot of talk about the zone blocking scheme and how we need quicker athletic linemen but the way i hear it Al wants a return to the power blocking scheme.

Great hire by the Raiders, DC in Arizona with Arizona D looking like a wet paper bag since he left. DC in KC with a team rebuilding and making a switch to 3-4, which takes time. Your article is wrong, he was removed as DC but was on the team as they wanted to keep him in another position. He left for the new job with the Raiders, great pick up by Oakland. Not only do they get a great coach but get someone that knows KC players well.

the raiders have brought in three coaches who are proven in their craft.as far as offseason moves,the raiders are leading the league in the best coaching pick ups.Pendergast,Waufle and Marshal are all on this staff.all these coaches have done in recent years is get their respective teams in the Superbowl.how can a team,making the best coaching moves be ridiculed.as far as the owner of the team and his quirks,that's another story.if the raiders switched to a 3-4 defensive scheme,there would be a new division champ and a new dynasty coming to Oakland.this is why that speed was drafted.
