Receiver is out of the hospital Aaron Wilson
In the wake of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Joshua Cribbs getting hurt on the final play of a 16-0 shutout loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the play call is drawing some criticism.
Cribbs got forearmed in the chin by Ravens defensive end Dwan Edwards and was carted off the field and taken to the hospital to be tested for concussion symptoms before being released early this morning.
Although Cribbs is doing well, his involvement in a hook-and-ladder play with the game out of reach is being questioned.
"I can't even put into words how upset I am at them for leaving him in like that,' agent J.R. Rickert told the Cleveland Plain Dealer in a text message. "Fortunately, he's doing well.'
Ravens veteran defensive end Trevor Pryce ripped the play call.
"Running a play like that when you're down 16 -- what are you trying to prove?' Pryce said. "I don't understand it. I don't want to say something like that, but heck, it's the truth. Bad things happen when you do something like that.
"When people are running around like crazy, somebody's going to get hurt. Dwan hit him because he had the ball. He didn't try to hurt him. We prayed for Josh. I hope he's OK. He's a great player.'
Edwards denied a suggestion that he was seeking revenge after quarerback Brady Quinn’s low block on outside linebacker Terrell Suggs. Suggs left the game with a sprained knee and may be out several weeks.
“It wasn’t retribution,” Edwards said. “I’m definitely not a dirty player. It wasn’t a cheap shot. I’m just playing football.”

why drag this out any longer? can mangini and turn the page.
Come on Jeff, what a load that is. They were going to complete the hook and lateral and then the refs were going to put some time back on the clock and let them have another drive as a show of good faith?
The argument isn't "Mangini got Cribbs hurt trying for the last-second desperation drive to win." It's "Mangini got Cribbs hurts trying for a last-second desperation score in a game that he could not even theoretically win." Save the stuff about playing 60 minutes for a time when a coach puts in 60 minutes too. The game was lost and the only possible thing he could've accomplished was what he did: to injure and infuriate his biggest playmaker.
You really think the agent isn't speaking for Cribbs huh? Yeah, "idiot agent." Just shot his mouth off completely of his own volition. Likely story.

Come on, it's an idiot agent! It's a 60 minute game. If Cribbs expects to play 56 minutes a game he should quit now
