The Oakland Raiders only assigned the low tender to starting middle linebacker Kirk Morrison, a bit of a surprise and not a strong indication of how they feel about his work despite leading the team in tackles for five consecutive seasons.

According to ESPN, another team could obtain Morrison for a third-round selection.

He's due to make $2.5 million next season.

It's clear that the Raiders are hoping they can pick up a third-round pick for Morrison rather than assign him the second-round tender.

Meanwhile, linebacker Ricky Brown and quarterback Bruce Gradkowski received second-round tenders.

Gradkowski is expected to compete with JaMarcus Russell for the starting job.

Long snapper Jon Condo is expected to get the second-round tender.

And offensive lineman Chris Morris was tendered, too.
