Oakland Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson, who has accused Raiders coach Tom Cable of assaulting him and breaking his jaw and cracking his teeth during an August confrontation, said he's willing to take a lie detector test to back up his explosive claims.

Hanson told Yahoo! Sports that he's also willing to pay for Cable to take a lie detector test.

Hanson has consented to be interviewed again by Napa police officials.

“I will take a lie detector test and a drug test, and I will pay for it, and I’ll pay for Tom Cable to take those tests as well,” Hanson said.

Per the report, the case is "really iffy," according to a souce.

And the source asserted that it's a dicey issue on whether Cable will ultimately be charged.

“There was a touching that, under the law, might be considered not good for Cable,” the source said. “… There was a confrontation. Hanson tumbled over. … Part of the issue is, what does ‘push’ mean. Somebody invaded his space. It’s real weak. No choking. No pushing him up against the wall. He grabbed him by the shirt front and yelled at him.”

Hansons lawyer, John McGuinn, is sticking by his claim that Hanson was assaulted whether he was punched or pushed.

"That's still assault," he said. “In fact, that’s classic assault."

McGuinn said that he's of the belief that the police department and district attorney are reluctant to press forward with the case due to not wanting to affect their business relationship with the Raiders.

Hanson has also alleged that Cable threatened to kill him during the Aug. 5 altercation.

Hanson has said that he's willing to take a drug test after former Raiders linebacker Bill Romanowski hinted during a radio interview that the assistant coach was using drugs.

McGuinn said that he's intent on filing a civi lawsuit regardless of whether criminal charges are levied.

“I personally could care less whether they prosecute the case, because we don’t need the DA to prosecute this case to pursue it as a civil matter,” McGuinn said. “His case is as strong without the criminal prosecution as it is with it."

Meanwhile, the NFL remains in a holding pattern on this one as they wait to see if charges are going to be filed before taking action. The NFL has been monitoring the case closely.

I tried to tell you people this Hanson was a wack, but you all ran with the story building it up day after day because it was the Raiders.

Now as Cable walks because Hanson is made out to be a wack you all get egg on your faces and 95% of what you reported turns out to be false.

It does not take a genuis to know that if all was like reported earlier Cable would have been charged long ago in what would have been a slam dunk for the DA.

Once you see it take this long you know that the DA is taking time to cross all his T's before letting the public know that no charges will be brought. Hell he has to as big as the media has built up all the bull.

Not sure about Hanson or Cable, but Billy Romo accusing somebody of using drugs is pathetic. That guy has been a hemmoroid his whole life and I hope he ends up like Alzado.

Remember that English dude that wrote great plays? Something about reality being the tangled web we weave? Simple minded observers such as I are fascinated with the spinning inside the spinning inside the spinners. New spin may have Hanson hitting himself in the face with a table because Mr. Cable would not listen to him. Or something. Lie Detectors only work when hooked up to honest people. Lying people can always beat them.
