Team has also signed Cary Williams Aaron Wilson
OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- In addition to signing cornerback Cary Williams off the Tennessee Titans' practice squad and placing veteran cornerback Fabian Washington on injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, the Baltimore Ravens also signed fullback Charles Ali and placed running back Matt Lawrence on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Ali was cut by the Cleveland Browns after playing in 28 games over the past two seasons. He was playing in the United Football League for the New York Sentinels.
A former Arkansas Pine-Bluff player, Ali is a big lead blocker at 6-foot-2, 265 pounds.
The loss of Lawrence is a blow to the special teams coverage units as he had recorded 16 tackles in kick coverage. Lawrence has been on crutches after getting hurt against the Browns last week.
