Chargers cornerback reportedly threw a champagne bottle, agent denies report Aaron Wilson
San Diego Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromartie is reportedly being investigated for a possible assault with a deadly weapon case in connection with a thrown champagne bottle at a San Diego bar Sunday night.
Cromartie is the subject of the investigation, according to a TMZ report.
Per the report, a patron was hit with a champagne bottle after champagne was "sprayed back and forth between Cromartie's party and other bar patrons."
A cut to the head was suffered, and Cromartie was identified as the person who threw the bottle. That hasn't been verified, though.
"This is absolutely not a story," Cromartie's agent, Gary Wichard, said. "Antonio didn't throw the bottle. He was there with two other players. Antonio is at a complex working out. Again, this is not a story."
A legal source told National Football Post that the alleged incident occurred at Bar West in San Diego and that it's unclear if it was an accident or intentional.
