Former 49ers, Ravens defensive end in Seattle today Aaron Wilson
Former San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens defensive end Roderick Green is trying out for the Seattle Seahawks today, according to a league source.
Green is a former Ravens fifth-round draft pick from the 2004 NFL draft who played at Central Missouri.
The 6-foot-2, 274-pounder was with the California Redwoods in the United Football League this past season after a previous stint with the San Francisco 49ers.
In 2006 with the 49ers, Green recorded a career-high 4 1/2 sacks.
In five NFL seasons, Green has registered 45 tackles and a dozen sacks.
Last year, Green resolved a legal case in his hometown of Brenham, Texas where he was initially charged with four misdemeanors in February, including reckless driving, unlawfully carrying a weapon, possession of marijuana and interfering with the duties of a police officer.
Ultimately, every charge except for the reckless driving was dismissed, according to court documents. Green had to pay court costs and perform 30 hours of community service under his plea agreement.
"I'm glad to put the matter behind me," Green told National Football Post last summer. "It was definitely a big misunderstanding and what they said about me was wrong. I'm very relieved. It's a big weight off my back. I'm thankful to God that it's over. Without him, nothing is possible.
"I'm a good person. I just want NFL teams to know that the case has been resolved and I'm ready to play football. It was resolved in a positive way. I can't wait to get back on the field."
