Jets coach: "I'll be true to myself." Aaron Wilson
Big, bad, blustering New York Jets coach Rex Ryan isn't ashamed to cry.
And he hasn't lost his trademark sense of humor.
So, Ryan brought along a prop to his daily press conference today: a box of tissues.
"I've got a new sponsor," Ryan said. "The Jets have Toyota and I've got Kleenex, for obvious reasons."
Ryan was cracking jokes after it became public information that he bawled in front of his struggling team during a meeting Monday.
"Everything's out and sometimes you say things to your team and you don't realize that everybody will find out," Ryan said. "That's fine and dandy. One thing I'll say is I'll be true to myself. I'm man enough to be me."
Ryan cried in front of the Baltimore media once when he was a Ravens assistant coach
He broke into tears during defensive end Michael McCrary's retirement press conference and was so choke up he was unable to talk.
Ryan truly does wear his emotions on his sleeve.

Nothing wrong with that. I cried, shot some birds, said some cuss words, and made an appointment with a shrink after the Titans/Ravens playoff game last year.

Good for him. Sometimes you just get frustrated, nothing wrong w/ that. At least he's authentic.
