P.R. official accuses columnist of inciting defensive end Aaron Wilson
From the NFL franchise that has brought you Cablegate and tried to ban Rich Gannon, here's the latest bizarre episode.
Following the Raiders' loss to the Denver Broncos, defensive lineman Richard Seymour had no interest in discussing the penalty he received for pulling Broncos offensive tackle Ryan Clady's hair.
And Santa Rosa Press-Democrat columnist Lowell Cohn tried to question Seymour about what happened to no avail. Eventually, the siuation escalated.
"It was no mistake," Seymour said. "It wasn't no mistake, brother. Next question."
At one point, Seymour told Cohn to "Get out of here" when he persisted in asking questions.
According to Cohn, Raiders public relations official Mike Taylor accused him of inciting Seymour and berated him for several minutes in the press box.
"He kept saying I had incited his player," Cohn wrote. "He called me an unflattering name. I offered to tell him my side of the story but he didn't listen, kept talking about my incitement.
"At a certain point I felt he was harassing me so I put in my ear pieces and began listening to my taped interviews while he kept telling other journalists, who were trying to work, that I had incited Seymour."
Cohn concluded his blog by saying he has never been treated this way by any other NFL team.
And the beat goes on in Oakland.

The Raiders are setting themselves up nicely to be the perfect "villain" in the NFL. This may be the only NFL franchise that has more people root to see them lose than they have fans who root to see them win. You gotta love the Raiders, for making the NFL seem more like the WWE every single day.
First quarter, a Broncos lineman grabs a Raiders facesmask of a line with BOTH HANDS and thrusts upward for the entire world to see. Hoculi's tic-tac crew famous for detailing holds and going to extravagant detail on replays fails to see it. The next play a Raiders defender loses his helmet over the same blocker. No calls whatsoever.
The Broncos right guard has a bad habit of hitting linemen below the knees after plays are over or if they've beaten his block. Careers end over stuff like that. He should fined for each instance and the NFLPA should follow suit since he's a threat to the health of other dues paying members. If Goodell doesn't make an example of such a player on a per item basis then it's proof he doesn't give a damn about the well being of all players, just for a few.
Hoculi's crew got the memo....

When you are the Raiders, everyone - yea, ANYONE else - is the problem. If all else fails, blame a blogger. One thought.....
The Lions had lost ever game since Dec. 2007 prior to yesterday. Yet, everyone sort of liked them. Millen was villified, coaches fired, players mocked. But no one hated them, they were just embarrassed for them.
Now consider the Raiders....Al Davis & Co. are not just seen as nutty, they're more like raging alcoholics who alwasy blame someone or something else for their problem. We hate Rich Gannon. Lowell Cohn is a hate-baiter. Hanson is a wussy. Kiffin is stoopid and a traitor.
Uh, no. The Raiders are more than an embarrassment. They are the worst of the NFL in ways that clearly point to more serious problems than a critical ex QB and a columnist., Zero class, zero personal responsibility.
They have surpassed the Lions as the league's Biggest Losers.
