Wilson: So, who's responsible for Vince Young starting?

The question remains unanswered: Did Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams bench quarterback Kerry Collins to insert Vince Young or was it solely coach Jeff Fisher's decision?

Linebacker Keith Bulluck raised the question after the quarterback switch in the wake of Adams saying he wanted to see Young back on the field.

"Jeff is a great coach and does a lot of great things. But to me, the outside looking in, it looks like Jeff's hands were tied in this," Bulluck said. "But we're a team and we are backing whoever goes out there. We are ready for Jacksonville."

Regardless of who's responsible for the move, the Titans weren't winning with Collins. Perhaps a change will get the 0-6 AFC South franchise a victory.

Young was the runner-up to Reggie Bush in the 2005 Heisman Trophy voting.

I think Titans owner Bud Adams made a good decision by correcting Jeff Fisher's excessive loyalty to Kerry Collins.

Young is a skinny Jamarcus Russell. this getting over hyped by one bowl game and making these guys top drafts choices is biting franchises in the butt and rightfully so.....Bowl game wonders, Combine workout warriors high draft choices...big mistake........draft football players, play football players not one time wonders

I am sorry Will, but have you watched Vince Young in the pros? No one denies that he was successful in college, but in the pros, he has been just plain bad. On top of that, he pulled himself out of a game, abandoning his teammates. That doesn't fly in the NFL. Despite my comments, I do not think playing VY is a bad idea, but only for one reason: to get a definitive answer on VY so the Titans can move on without lingering questions.

Peter,
I write a blog about the Titans so I've seen VY play quite often. I did not say a word about Vince Young's ability, good or bad, in my original post. However, Kerry Collins is not Kurt Warner, and Fisher should not have been so loyal to him. Collins is currently the 30th ranked QB in the NFL.

All VY has to do is outplay Collins. If he can't do that, he deserves to be cut, but the team's 0-6, so why not make the move?
