Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell isn't being abandoned by his teammates during his horrendous season.

To the contrary, Russell has received support from teammates who have stuck up for him while he struggles.

"He's fine," defensive end Jay Richardson told reporters. "He's a confident guy. He's understanding work ethic and what it takes to be a No. 1 quarterback. He's getting there. We all have confidence in him and confidence in our scheme and what we're doing. We'll be fine."

Russell was benched for Bruce Gradkowski after throwing two interceptions and losing a fumble against the New York Jets.

Despite Russell ranking last in the NFL in passer rating, the Raiders are going back to him as the starter.

"It depends on him, depends on how he looks at it," running back Michael Bush said. "Like Cable said, he's still our guy, and we're going to get behind him the whole way."

ummmmm.....lets see. Unachieving players taking up for other unachieving players, right?

"Can't we all just collect a big check and go home? Maybe if you keep stnking the place up, no one will notice if I suck."

I am tired of all the excuses and BS. Russell needs to man up and do his damn job. Get in shape, learn the positon and quit blaming other players.

Someone said it earlier, that good players make others look good. But you have to have the ability to LEAD.

Why is Walker still sitting the bench? Why do we have backup QB's that don't play? What is up with the running game?

I will tell you...........AL DAVIS!!!!

Kingston, Russel looks bad even when he's not under pressure throwing to wide open receivers. He isn't accurate.

Sure hes in a bad system with a bad supporting cast, but he's not even making the easy plays that are there for him.

Being a huge fan from NJ, I can't help but wonder why the Raiders haven't had a good season since SB 37? Is it the fault of JRuss? Or his line? Coaches? None of them have been there since that embarrasment against Tampa Bay in the superbowl. The only common factor in 8 seasons of losses is, Al Davis.
