The Houston Texans re-signed offensive tackle Ephraim Salaam and placed safety Brian Russell on waivers.
Salaam was added as a precautionary measure since offensive tackle Duane Brown is dealing with a knee injury for the past few weeks.
Salaam has a previous two-year stint with the Texans. He was recently cut by the Detroit Lions.
Russell was cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars and signed by the Texans recently.
Per a league source, the Texans also tried out two tight ends: Nate Lawrie and Carson Butler.
Neither was signed, though.
