Quarterback suffered a mild concussion Aaron Wilson
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is expected to be up for Sunday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens, coach Mike Tomlin announced today.
Roethlisberger did suffer a concussion, but has been medically cleared to play after undergoing neurological baseline testing.
"I met with Ben yesterday; he felt normal and he felt fine," Tomlin told reporters. "The battery of tests that he took showed that he showed no symptoms.
"So, we will continue to monitor his condition and where he is on a day-to-day basis and let that guide our decision-making. But as I sit here today, he is symptom-free and feeling fine. So we anticipate Ben practicing tomorrow."
The Steelers are going to promote Dennis Dixon to the backup role with Charlie Batch sidelined with a wrist injury.
And a league source told National Football Post earlier today that quarterback Tyler Palko will be signed to the Steelers' practice squad Wednesday after he clears CFL waivers from the Montreal Alouettes.
"I've been very pleased with Dennis' progress as a third quarterback," Tomlin said. "That's different, of course, than playing against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night television. No question we would have to do some things to help him if he plays in this game."
Safety Troy Polamalu (knee) is "questionable, at best," for Sunday's key AFC North game.
Offensive guard Chris Kemoeatu (sprained MCL) is out for a few weeks. His spot will be taken by undrafted rookie Ramon Foster.
