New York Jets running back Leon Washington was placed on injured reserve today.
He had surgery where a rod was inserted into his broken right leg, which suffered a compound fracture of his tibia and fibula during a 38-0 win over the Oakland Raiders.
The tibia required a rod to repair the damage, but doctors expect the fibula to heal on its own.
The Jets said they expect Washington to make a complete recovery.
He wil remain in California for the next few days.
